Rural Subdivision – Bloomfield
Our office in Cairns provided town planning, surveying and project coordination for a challenging subdivision project at Bloomfield, within the Cook Shire Council.
The development of this particular parcel of land proved to be challenging and in close collaboration with the Council and associated referral agencies (vegetation issues), 19 rural parcels of land with areas greater than 25 ha were able to be created.
The site abuts Monkhouse National Park with the majority of the site covered by rainforest. In recognition of the sensitive ecological values as well steep topography that burdens the land, building envelopes were nominated to ensure that subdivision layout provided the highest lot yield, whilst minimising requirements from Council and referral agencies.
The final development approval resulted in two building envelopes being nominated for each proposed lot, with 19 rural parcels of land with areas greater than 25ha created.
Through our collaborative approach with Council and its associated agencies, we were able to help our client achieve the acceptable approvals to deliver a profitable development.
