Celebrating Excellence: Nadee Gunatunga Receives Reciprocal License from New Zealand

Congratulations to Nadee Guantunga, a Licensed Surveyor in our Melbourne team, on receiving her reciprocal license from New Zealand at the recent Surveyors Registration Board of Victoria (SRBV) Conferral Ceremony.

This milestone recognises Nadee’s commitment to professional excellence and highlights the important work of Licensed Surveyors across Australia and New Zealand.

A Licensed Surveyor is a highly skilled professional who is legally authorised to carry out land and property boundary surveys. In Australia, they must meet rigorous educational, practical, and ethical standards, and be registered with the relevant state surveying board - in this case, the SRBV. Licensed Surveyors play a vital role in shaping safe, sustainable, and well-planned communities. Their work ensures:

  • Legal certainty: Protecting property rights through accurate boundary definitions.
  • Urban development: Enabling infrastructure planning, subdivisions, and land development through expert advice and data accuracy.
  • Environmental stewardship: Supporting responsible land use and conservation efforts.
  • Public safety: Ensuring buildings and infrastructure are constructed in the right place, to the right specifications.

At Veris, we’re proud to celebrate the achievements of our Licensed Surveyors and their leadership in the profession. While women remain underrepresented in the surveying industry, Nadee’s accomplishment, alongside other female Licensed Surveyors at Veris, including Gabby McCarthy, Unit Leader – Property Survey and Kellie Dean, General Manager – Property Survey, reflects the growing presence and impact of women in shaping the future of surveying.

Kellie Dean, who delivered the keynote address at the ceremony, shared an inspiring message about what it means to be a Licensed Surveyor:

“Your legacy as a Licensed Surveyor won’t just be the projects you complete, the marks you place, or the field notes you lodge. It will be the trust you build, the relationships you create, and the example you set – for your team, your clients, and the communities you help shape. Surveying is more than technical precision; it’s about integrity, leadership, and leaving a lasting impact on our community.”

We’re proud of Nadee and all our Licensed Surveyors at Veris who bring integrity, leadership, and lasting impact to the work they do every day.
