Veris establishes alliance with Wumara Group

Veris Australia has established an alliance with majority Indigenous owned land and construction surveying company - Wumara Group.

Wumara Group, a Supply Nation Certified company, is focused on the economic empowerment of First Nations people by providing Indigenous Australians with employment and education opportunities.

The alliance provides a unique opportunity for Veris Australia to work together with Wumara Group to assist in closing the gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians, whilst supporting the development and growth of the Wumara surveying business.

The alliance is already making an impact, with the recent award of a contract to provide surveying and associated services on Parramatta Light Rail.

Michael Shirley, Chief Executive Officer, Veris Australia commented:

“I’m thrilled we have established this alliance with Wumara Group, which will enable us to provide support to Wumara to grow their business to provide greater opportunities for Indigenous Australians.

“The alliance with Wumara Group also supports our efforts to build a diverse and inclusive work culture at Veris and to respectfully work in partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations and peoples, as outlined in our Reconciliation Action Plan.”

Dylan Frank, Founder and Managing Director, Wumara Group commented:

“Connection to the land is of central importance to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People, having navigated across the Australian landscape for millennia.

“By working closely with Veris, Wumara will continue to deliver high quality culturally appropriate surveying services, focusing on the economic empowerment of First Nations people.”
