MTMS Central Station
Next Rail, a partnership comprising John Holland, Jacobs and Transport for NSW is delivering vital rail upgrades across Sydney, as part of the More Trains, More Services (MTMS) program. The partnership will provide a major improvement in services by removing bottlenecks and delivering essential infrastructure upgrades, including the reconfiguration of track at Central Station (Sydney Terminal) and extensions to platforms 9 and 10.
The Challenge
Veris was engaged by Next Rail to perform 3D laser scanning of the Central Station platforms and rail corridor and develop a 3D Revit Model of the site.
Our solution
We provided an end-to-end spatial data solution to Next Rail that included:
- Terrestrial Laser Scanning of the site
- Development of 3D Revit Model including as-built MEP and Structures
- The deliverables included accurate Rail and OHW extraction.
Outcomes
The 3D model provided a powerful visualisation and collaboration tool supporting the design and construction stages of the project.
